BBRMC is a 25-bed facility with a Level IV Trauma designated Emergency Department along with ICU, Medical, Surgical and Women’s Units. There is also a Diagnostic Imaging Department with X-ray, CT Scan, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound and weekly MRI, a full-service Rehabilitation Department were Physical, Speech and Occupational therapies are offered, Laboratory, Respiratory Therapy, Case Management and Community Services Departments. Additionally, in the medical office portion of the hospital is the Big Bend Regional Health Center (BBRHC), home to Drs. Catherine Harrington and Rafael Escovar, Family Practice with Ob, Dr. John Ray, Family Practice, Dr. Ekta Escovar, Pediatrician and Allison Ainsworth, Family Nurse Practitioner. The BBRHC is open Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, all are accepting new patients and walk-ins are welcome. BBRMC has been a recipient of two Joint Commission Key Quality Performer Awards in 2011 and 2012, 2012 Press Ganey Summit Award for Quality, 2012 National Rural Hospital Association Award Top 20 Critical Access Hospitals, and a 2013 Health and Human Services Commission Award for Quality. The hospital is very active in the community, sponsoring many major events and volunteering. The Employee Activities Committee is busy year round fundraising for the Relay for Life, hosting toy drives at Christmas and school supply drives at the beginning of the school year, along with coat drives and canned food drives. The doctors at the BBRHC travel to Marfa and Presidio to see patients, as well. |
